The Shelburne Farms Collection – Part 1

March 8, 2021

Looking for some Shelburne Farms art? Sam Macy Designs is launching its FIRST official collection on March 23rd, 2021.

Looking for some Shelburne Farms art? Sam Macy Designs is launching its FIRST official collection on March 23rd, 2021 featuring one of Vermont’s most popular places.

Collections are inspired by iconic locations, landscapes, and themes so Shelburne Farms was an obvious first choice for us as born-and-bred Vermonters.

Here is a sneak peek at what to expect:

Why We Love Shelburne Farms

I grew up going on field trips and summer camps at the farm. It is the first place I caught a chicken, milked a cow, and learned how to make cheese (Vermont enough for ya?).

It is where we spent every July 3rd, eating cotton candy, donning glow stick bracelets and face paint, and picnicking while waiting for the sun to set and the fireworks to start.

As I got older, running through the farm barn turned into hiking the miles and miles of trails with my mom (and our pups on the off-season!). It is where Sam and I took our engagement pictures and where we still love to spend time when we’re back in my hometown.

Outside of our memories, the location itself is gorgeous which means Shelburne Farms art has to be gorgeous to do it justice.

Old barns, new barns, preserved nature, scenic lake and mountain views, and the animals themselves offer so much inspiration for Shadow Boxes.

So, Sam created his first Collection inspired by the place that holds so many memories for both of us!

The Trailer

Just like basically everyone, we had big biz plans… then COVID hit and threw a wrench in everything.

Shadow Boxes were built, we had a big list of people we wanted to reach out to and then everything shut down. No one was going to restaurants, galleries, stores, breweries, or wineries and the farm itself was mostly closed.

Now that things are opening back up, it is time to go! This has been a long time coming and it was SUCH an exciting day over here when we hit “publish” and released the trailer.

We had so much fun walking around the farm last summer with our cameras and flying the drone to catch footage. Sam wanted some up close and personal pictures of the places and animals he was planning to recreate in his Shadow Boxes.
